Traineeships

A traineeship is a course involving a work placement. They can be an alternative route for anyone between the ages of 16-24 who wants to get some work experience and gain a qualification before moving on to an apprenticeship or full-time employment.

To start a traineeship you must be:

  • Aged 16 to 24
  • Qualified below Level 3 (i.e. you do not have A-level or equivalent qualifications)
  • Unemployed
  • Someone with little or no work experience

Traineeships are a great starting point to get work experience and also help with improving your English and Maths if you need it. You will not get paid for the traineeship, however expenses will be covered.
