Universal Credit is a single payment to help with your living costs, replacing a range of benefits, including Job Seekers Allowance and Employment Support Allowance. If you are currently claiming another benefit, you will be advised by the DWP if you need to move on to Universal Credit. If you have a health condition or have been unemployed for more than two years, you are eligible for the Work and Health programme delivered by Shaw Trust. New Enterprise Allowance

New Enterprise Allowance

If you are interested in self-employment, the DWP offers support to start your own business. To be eligible, you need to be claiming Universal Credit, Job Seekers Allowance or Employment and Support Allowance and have a viable business plan. A mentor will support you to set up your business and start to trade, and you may be eligible for benefits for 26 weeks after, as well as start-up loans. Speak to your Work Coach to be referred.
